Kids and blankets go together. I've made dozens of them. My DGD has one she won't part with either ,no matter how pretty the new one is. Thats a lovely blanket and a very pretty DGD. Mavis

Very pretty blanket, and of course very cute granddaughter. Love that ruffled edge. Is that made of baby yarn?
Isn't is amazing how attached kids get to their blankets?
When we moved my daughter out of her ex husband's house I grabbed an old tattered blanket to throw over some furniture so it wouldn't get scratched in the move. DD's face got all red, "Not that one, that's my blankie!" Oops.
Next younger daughter dragged her blankie around with her till it disintigrated. Washing it was like giving a dog a bath. As soon as I washed it, she'd drag it thru the crud again. Now she's grown and she's doesn't have a blanket in her house that doesn't have great sentimental value!

Thanks for the compliments, DGD even sent me a thank you note in the mail!
It's made of a sport/baby yarn called "Bernat", it is shiny and one ply is a shiny white. A little tricky to work with, that extra ply kept getting snagged. But it was worth it. The ruffle was my own idea.

I did an afgan last spring out of that Bernat yarn. Works up so pretty, but certainly not my favorite to work with. I had trouble with it getting snagged too.
