Wish I would have found you sooner! I know it's too late for this year but if you're still interested I have birdhouse gourd seeds I could send for next year.
Let me know if you're interested and if so where you would like them sent.
Thanks!

Got the seeds, thanks. Do you have experience with what kind of birds nest in either type of gourd? What zone are you? I wanted these for my father in MO zone 6 and I got some from Baker Creek in MO, but I'm zone 3/4 and was wondering if you think I could grow them? I can get zucchini, but usually have to cover them for several months. Would you like some talk, blue delphinium seeds?

I'm in zone 5 and I do know those gourds like a longer growing season. We plant out the end of May and grow until October if we're lucky. If you try them in your zone I would certainly keep them covered and start them inside. Good luck. As for birds nesting in them. We have a lot of sparrows here and they seem to take to them. We do have to watch the wasp because they will take them over so we try to hang them where there is lots of activity. We use some of our bigger gourds for birdfeeders, like the bushel baskets, and the bluejays and the smaller songbirds seem to enjoy them. Would love some of your delphinium seeds. I personally haven't had luck but my Mom has beautiful ones. Maybe she'll get them going and she lives close so I can enjoy them there. Thanks!
