In my state, yes it is 100% legal.

If it's legal in your state, I encourage you to get one!

They are very fun little plants to grow!

"Salvia divinorum is a psychoactive herb which can induce strong dissociative effects."

A link to an overview of it's legal status

A responsible gardener will always check to see if a plant they are unfamiliar with is suitable for their locality. But not everyone is so inclined and as far as I know, you are the first to make a general offering here of plants illegal in many parts of the country. So it wouldn't be surprising for a trusting soul to fall for your offer, thinking they are getting just another variety of salvia for their garden.

It is irresponsible to offer any plants here that might cause an unsuspecting person to face a felony charge without at least offering a warning that possesing what you want to trade is illegal in many states, regulated in others and is being considered for inclusion in controlled substance lists in still others.

Are you offering any other things on your list that might get an unsuspecting person into legal difficulties? Are you shipping these plants into states where its possession is criminalized or regulated? (Not that I care a whit, but you might face felony charges yourself.)

Thanks for that bit of research, AG. Not that I was planning to strike up a trade; my intent was to introduce a friendly warning to someone who, as you suggested, might not have been aware that this isn't "just another salvia." As it turns out, apparently possession is not legal where I live.

You will be getting another variety of Salvia, a very interesting species with a long history of human usage!

Of course you should know your local laws when ordering any plants! St. John's Wort is illegal to plant in many states because it is considered a noxious weed!

I'm SURE that somebody here has grown Opium Poppies in their garden before, which can get you in alot more trouble than Salvia divinorum!

There are seven illegal plants that are banned nation wide in the U.S.A.-

"Marijuana" ~ Cannabis species
"'Shrooms" ~ Psilocybin containing Mushrooms
"Opium Poppy" ~ Papaver somniferum
"Peyote" ~ Lophophora williamsii
"Khat" ~ Catha edulis
"Coca" ~ Erythroxylum coca
"Iboga ~ Tabernanthe iboga

So all these posts you have made are still about DOPE and illegal plants and you are a gardener and what?

Sales slow on your street corner?

I know I'm old and must be missing something about all this illegal drug sales crap.

I still think you would be better off calling yourself a gardener, and while you are at it, being the modern personable person that you are:

I want to see pictures of your gardens.

Pictures always make it more fun here!

Start a new thread on OVER THE FENCE, and show us all the stuff from your personal residence. Like the rest of us do.

You know, be a part of this forum and show us and educate us and................

Not all of the plants offered will get you high, but this person seems to have a strong interest in those that will. Here's some notes on a few of the offerings:

Ololuiqui seeds "can transport the user on a legal LSD-like trip for about six hours. To prepare a dose, users soak about fifteen crushed seeds in V2 cup of water and drink the resulting mixture." (It also a member of the bindweed family and can be invasive.)

Virola bark resin contains hallucinogenic alkaloids. "It is a powerful and instantaneous hallucinogen."

Trichocereus peruvianus (Peruvian Torch cactus) "contains a number of psychoactive alkaloids, in particular the well-studied chemical mescaline .... although not as high as Lophophora williamsii (Peyote)." If you don't use it all to get high, you can use it to treat dandruff.

Yopo produces a psychoactive substance that will provide a trip of up to several hours.

Hawaiian Baby Woodrose: The seeds of the plant can be consumed to produce psychedelic effects. Being related to morning glory and bindweed, watch for invasiveness.

As I read somewhere on the web: WARNING: DO NOT INGEST ANY BOTANICAL WHICH YOU HAVE NOT FULLY RESEARCHED AND CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED!!!

Whoa... that is MY quote!

Did you know that?

Yopo does NOT get you "high" for several hours.

Who told you that?

What the hell is your problem?

I'm not a drug dealer. I sell/trade plants.

The list of plants that are illegal are the ones I'm NOT selling, please don't misunderstand.

That is right! These plants have many uses!

You sound like my grandma, what the hell is "dope"?

Is that what they brainwashed you to call Cannabis back in the 50s?

Teotzlcoatl,
Welcome to the scene but you should be aware that a goodly number of the folks here have drunk the "DARE" kool-aid and will be most offended at any attempt to educate beyond what the "authorities" have told them...most are not bad people, just uneducated about anything not taught by the public school systems. Thanks for the intelligent post Kalico.

At this point I'd like to state that I am completely against all forms of addiction and very opposed to "hard drugs" like heroin, meth and cocaine.

I am for the legalization of plants and plants alone, I would actually like to see harsher penalties for distributors of "hard drugs".

What most people don't understand is that entheogens are non-addictive, have positive effects on the body, mind and soul and are actually very safe and healthy (this is backed up by scientific evidence).

If your interested in entheogens that have positive health benefits than google the following- Ayahuasca, Peyote, Iboga, etc.
