I also will be harvesting some HORSE RADISH roots, the tops are cut off and then planted like a carrot stub, will grow a carrot like root from the top, just stick them in and they will grow,
this spring i will be making a bunch of cuttings off of a cork screw willow tree, the parrent tree is about 20 feet tall, pear shaped tree, has a realy good twist in the branches, they do very well in wet areas and will draw excess moisture from wet spots, verry easy to grow, low maintainance. thought i would post early to give folks a chance to see this, when i get ready to make cuttings in a few weeks yet, will know how many to make . they are rooted much the same as ***** willows, cut and place in jar and wallah, once they get roots they can be wrapped in moist peetmoss plastic and mailed, they are pretty hardy, will grow realy fast too, several feet per year guessing, maybe even 5 or six, a lot of the new groth last year looked pretty long some things i'd be willing to barter for would be LOMBARDY POPLAR, those tall fast growing skinny trees, they can be rooted the same way as willow RASBERRY , not the wild kind prefer red or yellow HONEYBERRY ENGLISH WALNUT SEEDLING TOMATOES still looking for heirloom tomatoes, i have some on order but you may have some i dont have ordered, i would have ordered most all of them, but SEA BERRY HUCKLEBERRY POTATOES looking for fingerling types, all red, or all blue, or other unusual varieties PEPPERS different colored bell peppers, peppers with medium to low heat, would like to grow and try to make my own chili powder if anyone knows what types to grow for that, i just bought a pack of holy mole BUNCHING ONIONS any type, my dad raised them years ago. INDIAN CORN i like the ones with a lot of dark reds in the ears, corn would be used for market so looking for probly a 1/4 to a half pound or so probly FURNS the kinds most common i supose TRUMPET VINE for the hummers PEACH would love some peach stones or volenteers, specialy off of those flat varieties and the white peaches are soooo sweet if i think of anything else i will list it, am pretty open to trying unusuaal things in the garden, BANNANA plants,FIGS , COTTON SEEDS beutifull plant HOPS VINE cuttings i think ????? Never enough time to do things right but theres allways time to do it over... If it aint broke dont fix it !!! We dont plan to fail, instead, we fail to plan. You can either wait in the sittin room, or sit in the waitin room. There is no blood in my viens, its, its, its, its chlorophyl. My thumb aint allways green !!!!!!!!!!!!!. You can make some of the greatest walking sticks from them. I'd be interested too. It gets wet here!

you can acualy take a regular willow type and wrap the long new growth around a broom handle, secure it and let it grow thicker around the broom handle a couple years Never enough time to do things right but theres allways time to do it over... Jim, we have a creek and would love Some these starts,I can trade you cuttings of elderberries, roses,or herbs such as boxwood or rosemary in return if you want them.

that sounds like a good deal to me, is boxwood the same kind of bush that most folks grow around driveways n such, they keep them trimmed or aquared off.? i have wild elderberries all over along the country roads here, thers one about 8 foot tall by the nieghbors building, i never did get to it before the birds did though, i dont have a single rose on the property, that sounds great, i almost bought one last year on clearance but they didnt look very good at all, and was going to go out last spring and dig some wild fragrent roses, never got that done either, was busy breaking sod, rosemarry sounds good, is she a redhead or a brunette or a blondey Never enough time to do things right but theres allways time to do it over... welcomne lori, i dont have the puzzy willow, was just using that as an example, as thats how easy the cork screw willow starts roots, but sure, i'd be thrilled to get some lombardy, all ya have to do is cut them and place in jar of water, change water every other day so it dont get stinky, however long you make the cuttings is up to you and concider shipping before you make cuttings,12-18 inches would be plenty and id bet they would still grow three feet the first year on the lombardy its going to be a few weeks here, i wont make cuttings untill i see the buds apear, that means the sap is up n runnin, how many dou you need ?, i'm concidering making a hundred or better cuttings, there are actualy two trees that i can cut from, my email is at the bottom of my post here to share contact info, what growing zone or state are you in????

its going to be a while yet before i get to it, is spose to get down to 3 above tonight with windchills in the negative teens, ground is still frozen plenty good yet, when i get ready to make my cuttings i will post here and let everyone know, then exchange an email with mailing info. its pretty easy, i'm hoping to go over and prune apple trees here the next couple days and will check willows then see what they look like, but am guessing it could take another 4-5 weeks yet, this just gives me a good idea what i will need, i'm thinkin just hackin up a hundred or so, maybe i can sell some at market was original plan

i went over n did some pruning of fruit trees today and chopped off a couple suckers at the bottom of the cork screw willow, i tried to capture the twist in the branches, but the pieces are only 18 inches long or so , they look more twisted when 3-4 feet long, but thought it might give a little bit of an idea what they look like, pretty limited on photography cause this thing has a cord on it
