Has anyone found these seeds, or is campari just a term for cluster tomatoes. They are the only tomatoes I have found in the store this winter that have any flavor and I would like to try them this year.

"plant does not set seed, flowers are sterile, or plants will not come true from seed"

I read that, too, but after going through pages of google, I get the impression that there is seed out there, but it is only available to commercial producers in quantity.

Right, you just can't save seeds from your purchased tomatoes to grow your own!
There are so many yummy tomatoes out there, I hope you find one you like as much as Camparis!
I spend so much time drooling over the descriptions on the tomato seed sites. They all sound good to me!

I also found the Campari in the stores -- it's a greenhouse tomato grown by EuroFarms. They are great sized tomatos -- perfect for slicing and for salads in my opinion. And I love the flavor -- very tomato-y and not "sweet" tasting.

I fermented some seeds last year and would love to share them if anyone would like to give them a try. I will be growing them this year as well. I would love to "de-hybirdize" these if they are in fact hybrid seeds.

If these tomatos can be grown hydroponically and taste as good as they do, I can only imagine how good they would be if grown in some real rich soil amended with compost, vermiculite and peat moss :-)

Last year i fermented seeds from store bought Campari and grew tomatoes in greenhouse. I liked tomatoes, not sure if they came true, but they were good.

Maybe I'll give this a try. I can take a little taste before I ferment to make sure the tomato is a good tasting one. Some of the camparis they are getting in the store now are not as good as the earlier ones.

Wanda -- I'm getting your seeds out to you in the mail on Tuesday (Monday is postal holiday). If anyone else would like to try growing these, I have tons of seeds that I would love to share. I would like to see several people grow them in different parts of the county and try to de-hybridize them. Just let me know if you would like some of the seeds :-)
