Well I hope to come out of this thread with all body parts intact......LOL

Anyways.....I have a gripe about buying garlic bulbs. First off I love to grow garlic and have had good luck with it. My gripe is why don't some organazation have BULK bulbs for sale that grow well in different areas, like an extension center. I may very well spend over $100.00 for garlic this year since the crop of $50.00 I spent last year is nearly eaten up....hahahahaha dang that stuff is good.

Anyways,

Thanks
John

John, have you ever thought of saving enough of the big bulbs to replant so you don't keep spending your cash? I know, it takes willpower. Try giving the bulbs to someone you trust to hold for you until planting day Razzer You are dreaming about the distribution center for garlic. Nice thought though. Growing great garlic takes effort. Why not be rewarded for that by getting good money for it?

My Bride and I swore we wouldn't eat ALL the garlic THIS year and have enough leftover to plant.....BUT...yaddy yaddy yadda so this is why I plan on buying double or even triple this year and in theory I should be all set. I also think (dangerous thing) that the longer I use bulbs grown in my garden the stronger the strain....but who knows?

Thx Oh2

Growing the same garlic each year is good. It is already acclimated to your area and you will get all of it's goodness without going through the trial of getting a non-local variety to get used to your winter.
