Does anyone have a source for bushel baskets or small wooden crates for storing vegetables. I haven't been able to find anything yet and would really like to find some.

I am not sure where you are, but there is a place in Jacksonville Texas that makes them.
They sell both #1 and #2 grade..the #1 will run you about 4 to 6 bucks each. The seconds usually cost less than 2 dollars each. Not much wrong with them, maybe a wire ran crooked or a weave not just right, but they cant be sold as first grade baskets. I cant remember the name of the place but I will check and get back to you.

How about using some of those plastic crates that
the milkman carries his milk deliveries in? They seem to easily found, considering the number of them my husband uses about the place.
They may not be bushel in size though I think the double ones must be close to it. It been so long since I've seen a bushel basket, my judgement may
in error.
If you object to the plastic next to your veggies, just line with paper; paper grocery bags seem like a solution. I think of the use of these plastic
crates as saving them from the garbage dump sites.
