Hi,I'm trying to find out when to harvest rosehips to make jelly, have recipes that say 'pick when fully ripe" ok, when is that? (in Pa.)also has anyone heard that they give you 'itchy bottom disease'YIKES! The birds love em, but theres lots! Thanks!

What in the world is itchy bottom disease??!!!I'm sorry that I can't answer your question, but I have to know what that's all about( I'm laughing my non-ichty bottom off)!

The hips would be ripe when fully formed, red, and plump. If they get brown and start to shrivel, you waited too long. I have never heard of "itchy bottom disease". It does not sound like fun. Good Luck with your jelly! Sarah.
