Sorry, but I gotta post a little more info here...

IF I can plant tomatoes away from the Black Walnut tree, I will participate, but I don't know yet.

Why is a list necessary now when it will be open all season for people to make submissions?

If I were to join, which I am not, but speaking for anyone who may not yet know, I wouldn't know until I had specimen in hand once it has grown. If I put my name on the list, am I expected yo make a submission?

As a judge, I just don't want anyone to feel pressured into joining at this time. Smiler

As of now, there is nothing yet about categories but I will email the others and see what they say.

PS what IS a good paste tomato?

Have a great gardening day!

This is not our official entry post. Grid is finding out who is interested, I think. When the time comes, I will post the thread with the rules and info needed. There will be a pledge that all entrants need to sign. Basically it states that they will abide by only organic methods of growing tomatoes for this contest and sign it. I will then email each entrant a copy of the charts we will be using. There is a 5 person committee involved in the contest. Those 5 are MHG, lil ol peapicker, alaskan, wrennie and myself, oh2fly. We will keep you updated.

Muddy knees David! Compost is my friend. Every day I enroll in gardening school. Some days it feels like kindergarten!

ohfly i just hope you can find a better chart then the one Pharmerhil site uses since that one is easily manipulated to make tomatoes appear bigger then they are.
