lisaann, what kinda floor is that stove on? And why does it have the funny hump on the back half of the top? Bean, thanks for the sympathy! I just butterflied it closed. I took him in yesterday since it just wasn't 'sealing' properly. Doc said I should have gotten him stitches (have to do it in the first 24 hours...now too late *sigh*). But it will be OK anyway. We found a shoe from older brother that fits over the bandage and has NO flex. So he wears that during the day. Point being, he can now RUN AROUND THE HOUSE! Fussy boy has been replaced with my sweet boy. DH and I feel much better!

Hi alasken! My goodness, that poor baby! Hope it all heals well!
Anyway, that stove is sitting on the concrete floor of my basement, and that hump is there for frying stuff in a pan and the flat part, keeps things warm, and guess what, some ants found their way out of the wood and into Lucky's food and now Hubby's cleaning the bowl out, and I had the decency not to say, "I told ya so!"
Still crappy weather here, but not bad enough that I couldn't get to work, but alot of people come from an hour away, so they couldn't come.
I'm waiting on the pic, MHG, Is Liz in charge, or Dave?

lisaann, and there I was thinking that the floor was maybe cork...it seemed the right color for cork. LOL So then is the flat part sticking out, not directly on top of the stove? My stove has the entire top flat. blah blah blah

MHG, it *is* pretty...but where does the smoke go? straight out the back? Not up? Also, pretty walls (we have wood walls too), but they seem a bit close to the stove.

alaskan, Glad your boy will be ok & he's happier now, which makes everyone happier! Nicce stoves, guys! I wish I had one, or even a fireplace! Anyone want to post pics of their fireplace to make me even MORE jealous? My friend has a stove that looks kinda like those, but it burns tiny pieces of coal, which they buy somewhere, and another friend has a pellet-burning stove. I think if I got one someday, I would prefer wood, even with the critters! Any opinions on the different kinds of fuel?
