I saw some raspberries at the nursery I didn't get the raspberries name. The photo of the berries on the container looked like a pale albino color and not red. They said they were everbearing raspberries.

Is that the same as everbearing strawberries in that the raspberries produce all summer? Do most raspberries just produce in a short time once in the summer? Also does it hurt planting different color raspberries next to each other?

from what I understand....raspberries either bear once,

or they bear two times, the first time pretty early, on old wood, and then a second time in late summer/early fall on new wood.

I don't think you have to worry about different colors and such. The only thing would be that if you planted them right next to each other, without a quality root barrier between them, then the one might take over and choke out the other.

Never thought about the roots. Is the pound in plastic edging about 6 inches deep enough or do I need to go down a foot or more?

That's what some call everbearing.

I have Kiwigold which are pretty pale looking:

But also look at the pic for Anne raspberries on the same page.
