Hi, I'm a VERY new gardener. I planted my beloved first borns (turnips :P) 2 weeks ago. Recently, I've noticed the largest group of them is looking wilted, and flies are buzzing around sitting on their leaves! How do I get rid of the flies??

Thanks in advance, here's a picture

i know i planted too much in one spot, i should have really researched a bit more before i started, please excuse my newbie-ness Frowner

The flies are probalby after something in your soil and likely won't bother much. You could split those up without too much difficulty while they are small. Just dig a small clump and replant them a foot away. Give them a week, then thin out what you moved so they have room to grow.

My garden looks the same way!!!! I know that doesn't help with your problem--just thought you would like to know you have company in your newbie-ness state. Razzer

I did that last year with my turnips, and it taught me two things. One, that you can move them, and two, that I hate thinning them out...
