What in the world? I have very small white bugs on my tomatoe plants and have no idea what they are. They do not seem to be doing any harm but I thought I would ask some professionals. If you touch them they will fly off but always come right back. Thanks again.
I have the same bugs too....I also got no reply. All the heavy rains seems to wash them all away. There is no visible damage to the plants, However....I too would still like to know what they are called.I live in northwestern NC.....Must be a tarheel bug..
This is what I have got so far on some bug research about my problem:
They're whiteflies. Try to control them now; they will kill the plants if the population gets large enough. Spray with insecticidal soap when the flies are least active, and place yellow sticky traps around the plants to catch those in flight.
Some one wrote that message to me on another site. But my question now is there something else I can use other than the insecticidal soap to prevent these bugs. You know, something organic. Thanks to ALL.
One proven method of control is the ol' yellow sticky trap. They fly, they see the color yellow, they hit the yellow paper, they die. The more are trapped, the fewer are left to make whoopy/more whiteflies.
