Does anyone know what could be getting to our plants? They are gone in the morning, roots and all. We have an abundance of rabbits and deer among other animals. Thanks for any ideas any of you might have.

Let's see, Wordplayer (and BTW, " WELCOME").......We got one vote for gophers and I'll cast mine for....VOLES. It's not cutworms, they would've had decency to at least leave plant! Do I hear any other nominees? ?:|

If it is gophers, search forums for "natural predator repellents" or "predator urine repellant".
If it's the vole-meisters.....well, the aforemetioned plants are "no more" , so...can't do anything there. But, to possibly protect others: dig down round them and sprinkle in some crushed oyster shells and crushed red pepper. It has helped me...and I'll be honest here.....sometimes. Not everytime. But, it's worth a try! Good luck. Smiler
