We live in Eastern North Carolina (which was recently hit by a big heat wave). We've been watering all our plants - careful to do so in the cool hours and making sure the soil is moist but not too wet. For some reason, the leaves on many of our plants (most get partial sun/partial shade) have begun to yellow and wilt. What is going on?? This seems to be most prominently evident in the nasturtiums and in the herbs in our strawberry pot. Are we overwatering? Are they getting too little sun? Any advice? Thanks! G.
Yellow and wilting does sounds like overwatering. Are you letting the top of the soil dry out just a bit between waterings? If you want to know for sure and are willing to risk further stressing a plant, dig it up and check the roots. If they are brown and mushy, it's overwatering.
