Juliette...It's been a while since I grew sprouts, but as I recall just use a quart or gallon jar - add a table spoon of seeds, soak with water over night, pour off water and rinse, pour off that water and put in a dark space (under cabinet). Poke air holes in the lid or cover with cheese cloth & rubber band. The next day rinse again and pour off water and put back in the dark. This exercise keeps them from mildewing. Do this daily till you have sprouts. Shouldn't take too long. Different seeds sprout at different rates. Use alfalfa or mung bean seeds. Some others work as well. Good luck and good eating...Sundown

I'm a real "basic" kind of person/gardner. I sprout using glass jars (yes, you guessed it, recycled from my own kitchen) and putting small holes in the screw on/off tops. Every few days, I sprinkle some water in with the sprout seeds, close up the top, put it under my sink. Depending on the type of seed, in about a week or so...I've got wonderful sprouts to add to my meals.

If you don't want to use the glass jar method...I certainly understand. Good luck. Good Health and Enjoy the Sprouting experience.
