I was away a couple of days and the grass clippings I planned to rake up pretty much dried up on the ground. I usually just use the mulching mower, but this time the grass had gotten so high, my sister's grandson cut it with the riding mower and left huge swaths of that composst gold I usually don't get to put on my compost pile.
So, does it lose it's status as a green nitrogen additive as soon as it dries, or will I still get to count it as a green?
I hav e looked over the forum and several other compost areas, but I have not found anything on this.
Thanks if anyone has some insight on this.

You know what I call this? (And I know some folks will laugh & poo poo it.) A "Tween".
Frequently have the same problem as you, & just count it as a "brown/green" - lol!! Sort of an "extra", that I even out with equal amounts of regular browns & greens.
