Sorry, but being to organic gardening I have a lot of questions and a lot of bad habits to break.

I always planted winter rye, annual rye, or some other ground cover on garden after cleaning all the remaining spent plants.

Question: Keeping organic, where do you buy seed?

I am sure the stuff at my neighbor mill has been sprayed with a chemical Herbicide to kill rag weed.

Also, veg seeds?

I have not seen mercaptan treated seed for rye or annual rye. For me treated seed is my personal 'no-go' line for growing.

IMO cover croping is an OK and aproved organic practice.

I use permannent mulch so I don't cover crop any more.
