A friend of mine planted garlic in my garden 'bout a week ago. I thot it wasn't the right time, but he said they were sprouting so he'd take a chance.
Now reading the garlic thread (wow-22 pages on garlic! who'd a thunk it?),
it seems that garlic should be planted in the fall?
Any chance that this garlic will amount to anything?

It will grow the rest of the summer. It will grow big. The cold will kill it, because it had too much top growth.

OR

We will have a mild winter, and it may make it, despite the top growth.

OR

You could dig it up around the end of August, and let the bulb dry, and replant in the fall.

Time will tell.
