My tullips and other bulbs are showing already and we may have a storm this weekend. We have had unseasonably warm weather. I heard if we get a snow or freeze it will kill them. If I cover them with straw or something will this save them? Anyone please help. They are in containers and I live in zone 7.

Hi - I live in Massachusetts, and my allium, tulips and daffodils are 1 to 2" out of the ground already. I've been told not to cover them as this will keep them warm and encourage more growth. Hopefully someone has an idea!

DON'T WORRY

Bulbs are designed to take snows and freezes. Leave them alone and they will be fine. If your temps drop to -10F for a couple of nights than get worried and cover them with some straw.
