Last year we had plenty of fruit on our lone pear tree but this year there is none. Do pear trees miss out a year maybe sometimes ?? Help please experts.

Pears should bear each year if everything is favorable. A spring frost at the wrong time can kill the blossoms. We had a bad frost on the tenth of June this year and it wiped out about 88% of the fruit. My plums and apricots have none. Some of the apples have a little fruit on them. I guess we will have to be content with raspberries and strawberries this year.

Thanks Jamaica for that info. There was a cold spell here early June so that's what probably caused the failure...just have to stick to raspberries and strawberries as you suggest. We have had tons of strawberries this year and the raspberries I pruned are looking good. However the weeds and grass are a constant problem and need plenty of manual labour in this hot sun to keep the area clear. God bless !!
