This guy has been lurking in my garden for the last couple of days. I finally got off my lazy behind and took his picture. Any ideas what he is? He looks a little like a boxelder bug, but one picture I had showed the boxelders with straight antennae. And this guy's are bent. It is cold though maybe he's cringing.

Sorry for the large picture download, but the medium size loses some of the detail. I'll include the medium size for those with slow connections.

Thanks.

I am not advocating the products being sold on this link, it's just the first match I found.
You've definately got a boxelder, from what I can see.

The poor guy is really confused. He's on my potatoes. He's supposed to eat box elder tree seeds.

Thanks.

Very similar to the boxelder bug but has an orange head and is much narrower.

Cool pictures! I have some neat picts of unknown bugs I would like to post for ID...if possible can you send me an email about how "static.flickr" works...could not find any info about it. The pictures popped right up...seems like a really neat way to share photos! Thanks!

It's pretty simple. Just go to http://www.flickr.com/ and register for an account. If I remember correctly, you have to download software to upload your pictures.

There's a limit to how many bytes you can upload each month. But no permanent limit for how many pictures you can upload. And they're generous with the limit. There's also an option to upgrade your account.

After you upload a couple of pictures there's a link to view various sizes of your photos. You select the size you want to set up as a link in your text in a post and it gives you a static link for the picture. Just cut and paste that link into the textbox where you Post Messages.

The interface is a little awkward, but you'll soon figure it out.

I usually put all the links I want to post in a Notebook file. Build my message around the links in the Notebook file. Then cut and paste the Notebook file into the post.

Good luck.
