I would like to know a source to find a black pepper plant to grow....the kind which produces pepper corns, not a regular pepper plant.

Thanks

Well phoenixOG, as far as I know getting pepper plants to bear fruit is going to be tough since our daylight hours are less than the plants need but Richters Herbs sells to pepper plants and can advise you on their needs.

Peace

I have read that growing pepper plants is tricky because they need a host plant (they are symbiotic). They also don't produce berries until its 3 years or older. I just buy mine in bulk from the organic food store - its easier.

Do you have a web site for this?

Thanks

nope, no web site. I got it from the Encyclopedia of Medicinal Plants by Andrew Chevallier. I can't remember where I read that pepper was a parasitic plant that needed a host, and I could be thinking of something else.

Hey Garden Z! Got any ideas?
