Thinking way ahead here...but how do you move potted plants indoors when it gets cooler without bringing in a host of insects each year? Is there an organic way to rid a plant of critters before bringing it inside to protect the plant and the other existing houseplants?
Lessee, when I brought in plants I've done brought an ant nest in, aphids in, ladybugs, my cats done brought in fleas, and mice and gophers. Excellent question. Guess you could do as the pros recommend when buying a new houseplant: seclude it and wait to see if pests are aboard. You could hose the plants off, dose em with some soapy water, but I don't know about the soil born creatures though...
Like mulchy said a good cleaning and you will be ok.....there shouldnt be to much of a problem with soil bugs but the ants and an occasional sow bug or two but nothing that will eat all your plants and family, house ect.....:^O
