Organic Gardening will upgrade its login and registration system on
December 11. The new system is needed to support some of the major site

A friend gave me a big bag of seeds to plant in my yard. He got them off of his own flowers. I have found black beetles (weavils?) on them. How do I get rid of them? Do I need to worry about eggs? I really want to plant these seeds. They came from drought resistant plants. But I don't need a new pest in my yard.
You need to clean the seed from the chaff. I put a pile on a white sheet of paper to seperate the seeds, then let the seeds sit on the paper for a few days so the bugs run off.
After cleaning the seeds than put them in the freezer for a couple of weeks to kill any eggs and bugs left on the seeds. Than store them in a cool, place out of direct light.
