I am looking to wash my windows now that spring appears to have arrived. Is there a mild organic soap or household mixture that I can attach to my hose that won't harm the soil?
As well, is now a good time to aerate my lawn in Ontario?
my new book on eco-freindly cleaning says that you can use club soda to clean your windows w/o rinsing.

I have lots of windows and have always used a spoonful or 2 of vinegar, a tiny drop of green liquid dish soap and a bottle of water, fill up an old sprayer bottle for the mirrors and inside windows (try newspaper, too!) and use a hose-attachment thingy for outside the windows. If I spray the windows using high pressure when the sun isn't shining on them they sometimes don't even need wiping! They dry spotless!
that's be much better for outside windows. club soda is hard to project that far, no matter how good a sprayer you've got!

You can use an old windex-size spray bottle or you can buy an empty one. For the outside windows I bought a sprayer bottle that attaches to the hose (it's about the same size.) I add a tablespoon or 2 of vinegar and a drop of soap (don't use too much soap like I did the first time!)When I'm doing all the windows I'll use a bucket and squeegee for inside and just triple the amounts.
