Organic Gardening will upgrade its login and registration system on
December 11. The new system is needed to support some of the major site
enhancements that we are currently developing. The new system is shared with
other Rodale sites, including Prevention, Men's Health, Runner's World and Women's Health.

I had these all over my tomato stems last season. They kinda resemble the pic of Spittlebug in Rodale's "Good Bug/Bad Bug". They are bright green and they hop. The nymphs are not the same as described in the book, though; they are like little prehistoric porcupines, pokey things sticking out all over their tiny little black and brownish bodies. And when I tried to pick them off with my fingers, I do get noticeably poked as if by a small needle. There's no "spittle", as described in the book either, so it is a mystery to me what these things are and how to deal with them. They suck on the stem. The season before last there were a few. Last season, there were a lot more, and I didn't plant in the same area. They just found the plants. They also liked my eggplants. What are these things and how do I get rid of them?
