Help! My transplanted snapdragon is dying! I had platented a few snapdragons last year, but they appeared to die. So, this year I planted other stuff. The snapdragons came back, but then the yellow one was in the midst of other yellow plants and the pink one was next to other pink plants, so I switched them 2 days ago. The yellow one is doing great, but the pink one seems to be dying! I watered it again and sprinkled some all-purpose organic fertilizer on it today. What can I do to save it?!
Is it hot out? They don't handle heat well. Can you shade it with an umbrella? & a diluted manure tea might give them a boost until they get over the shock of their move.

I'm not near any farms. Does the Manure have to come from Cows or Horses? Has anyone used Dog manure? What if they don't eat organically? How about people manure? It sounds pretty darn disgusting to me, but if it works...
You'll want to use manure from anything that doesn't eat meat or meat by-products due to bacteria in the manure.
I use rabbit manure and it works great. Do you know anyone with a pet rabbit? Ask them for the manure if they aren't using it.
As for the manure tea, I use a 5 gallon pail and fill it 1/4 manure - 3/4 water. Let it sit in the sun for 2-3 days, pour off the liquid and use it on your plants. I put the manure in an old burlap bag then tie it shut, so it's kind of like a tea bag - leave the twine long enough so it will hang outside the pail - then you won't have to dish in to retreive it! A pillowcase will also work well for this.
This concoction gets pretty stinky so don't put it by the front door (talking from experience! ) The type of pail I use is a galvanized 5 gallon pail with a lid - keeps the flies from getting in it and keeps the smell to a minimum.
Good luck - let me know if you have more questions!
Thank you. I'll contact a pet store :-) Is it OK if I put the tea all over my garden? My garden is small, so I won't have to make much. But, flowers are blooming - will they get hurt?
It's so nice to have this forum ! I learn so much here! Y'all are wonderful :-) !!
