I've been wondering what the other gardeners think about this whole fiasco. I know that I am completely incensed by being switched without my consent - as are so very many other women who have posted on this and other message boards. Not only angry about the unauthorized switch, but also about the content (or lack thereof) in the "new" "OG" - and OS, I might add, though we never asked for a foo foo magazine. So what about the men that weren't switched? Have you been impacted by the switch, even though you actually weren't switched?

Yeah, I was pretty ticked off too. You mean that only *women* were switched to Orgasmic Sty?

How cheesy. I just called to make sure that I had been switched back; I am supposed to be getting my first "inaugral" issue of OG in the next week or so--I hope!

One has to wonder what they were thinking when the corporate board gave the go ahead to do what they did.
This was A cold business decision at best with total disregard to the most important aspect of the magazine the subscribers who support the magazine.

To think of segregating the subscribers, and ultimately insulting the intelligence of women gardeners leads the list making it the worst boo boo in the history of corporate Rodale.

I have no doubt whatsoever that even the thought of this marketing flounder would have been instantly stopped dead in its tracks if J.I. or Robert ever heard of it.
While the switch personally did not affect me, I know of many women that were. Hard working, responsible, dedicated people who were unjustly served.

On a lighter note though, there are many fine people within Rodale press that listen to our concerns, and who are working hard to increase the content and quality.

Believe it. My OG subscription is in my wife's
name and I got the stupid style magazine.
The only consolation is that the OG magazine
itself now sucks so bad it's not worth having
either. Thank god there were only two issues
remaining on my subscription (and I never did
get credit for the one they wasted with the
issue of style).

The new OG is even worse than the pre-McGrath OG.
I guess it doesn't occur to Rodale that they had
the best GARDENING magazine PERIOD, but they've
derstroyed that and all the good will of the
subscriber base with the lastest set of boneheaded
changes.

yikes! lighten up, it's just a magazine. I can always find something of value in it.

Hi! I just found out today what was going on. I called to order a gift subscription. When talking with customer service, I asked if my subscription had run out because I hadn't remembered seeing it for a while. She asked if I had been receiving OS. I said yes, why is that?(I guess I am a little behind.) So, she told me the magazine had split. I did get switched to OG, after I told her I did not want OS. When asked who made the decision on who rec'd which magazine, she said someone in management? Furthermore I found out the "new" OG is smaller and the price has gone up! What a way to sell more magazines!!! I have been a subscriber for about 5 years now and have totally enjoyed the magazine thus far, but I did not buy a gift subscription because of how this whole situation has been handled. I will have to see the "new" magazine before I make my decision. I hope they have not totally blown it! Sorry so long.
