I had lunch with my father today and he was telling me about this. It appears one of the most heinous of weeds to the cotton farmer is now resistant to Roundup. Duh. I told him not to worry about his fellow farmers too much...I'm sure Monsanto has a "cure" they will only too happily unveil in the upcoming months.
On a smaller bright note, I think he's finally "getting it" that we shouldn't mess with our seed/crops and that Monsanto is really not the farmer's friend.

Hate to see pigweed winning at the expense of any farmer, but it does create a little bit of the "I told you so" urge when I see the poison-pushers that got so many chemical-addict farmers hooked on their junk find that they are pushing worthless crap that doesn't work anymore.
Roundup is a key product for them, like heroin is to a street pusher. If it doesn't work, the addicts start to get edgy. So do investors.
Hope their stock plummets to the sewer.
