I apologize for this being a bummer, but it's important. Keep watching the drama unfold about a family man, wanting to help America in the wake of 9/11, commiting an atrocity.
I spent years once trying to convince America that the MyLai massacre was no isolated incident. Lt. Calley snapped. Other atrocities occurred on a regular basis in Vietnam, but none made the news.
This is unpleasant at best, but worth knowing what's behind the drapes. What war does. We're just barely beginning to understand.
