I know, surprising news but still notable. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/t...s?article6146396.ece One of the quotes is; "A garden is a great idea, but I shudder to think of all organic." (paraphrased). Also talks about the time a two working family does not have to devote to an organic garden.
I certainly applaud any positive publicity about organic gardening and farming and hope MACA, which represents agribusinesses like Monsanto, Dow AgroSciences and DuPont Crop Protection, gets the publicity it deserves.
But, I do find it odd, perhaps even a bit of "smoke and mirrors", that the White House is getting all this press about having an organic garden while at the same time there are multiple food Bills which are carefully worded to benefit corporate farming conglomerates, chemical corps, and GMO seed producers.
After spending much time researching food Bills HR 875, S510, HR 814, HR 759 and both sides of the latest "food safety" issues, it becomes clear it is not the small organic farms which are responsible. The latest rash of food bills do NOT support organic farming or gardening and will put many small farms out of business and add to the acreage of large industrialized (GMO) farms. Paul Turner
