I thought it was pretty good. I found it amazing at just what some people eat!!
That one fellow said they boght 52 litres or something a week of soft drinks ! He said he could drink four 2 litre bottles a day of coke!!!! What are some people thinking!
Hi Hayman, Some people just have more money than sense. I just don't understand how they get to live as long as they do, except of course that nobody dies before their time. I feel sorry for them though. I've got a feeling that they'll really suffer when they get older, and the arthritis, etc. sets in. Things I'm trying to avoid incidentally. Love, Jackie

Just a quick PS. If you know this chap, you might suggest he see a doctor. It sounds as though he might have a low blood sugar, hence the craving for soft drinks.I think diabetes falls into this category. Love, Jackie
I'm just always amazed these days by what folks are able to consume - both the quantities and the (questionable) qualities of things. I'm not being critical at all, just amazed by it. I have a very fast metabolism; I'm 5'5" tall and only 107 lbs., and can't keep weight on. (My health is fine, it's a family trait.) But with that comes a real intolerance for fake stuff, white and refined sugars, and most of the prepared foods and beverages found in the standard grocery store nowadays. I not only want to eat/drink natural but I actually have to, or I'd be insane, or passed out in a ditch somewhere. I have to munch all day long rather than just two or three bigger meals a day. I don't know how people are tolerating the additives, especially, in the quantities that are consumed. Please, everyone, watch out for high-fructose corn syrup. It's now used to stretch a truly alarming amount of foods and beverages one used to be able to trust, in order for the manufacturer to save big bucks. Sodas, fruit and vegetable juices, salad dressings, condiments, canned products, on and on and on. It's listed on the labels, stay away from it. It is now a major, major player in the skyrocketing diabetes and other blood sugar problems amongst Americans of all ages - our bodies and our insulin literally do not recognize this stuff and don't process it properly or at all, regardless of one's overall health. You will feel 900 percent better if you read your labels and don't ingest this junk.
I can't believe that some families allow their kids to drink/eat some of the junk that they do and in those quantities. We don't keep that stuff in the home, but on occassion the kids are allow a soda for a school party or field trip. Thing is, my kids only drink about 4-6 ounces of the giant 20 ounce bottle...and then they complain their tummies hurt. Most of the time they just ask for water in their sports bottle because they don't want tummy aches. We were never really big into the garbage foods but we did eat processed stuff several tiems a week a few years ago. Just ignorant shopping on my part. When I started to educate myself and make an effort to buy whole, organic foods we all started to feel better. With it being Christmas a few days ago, we had a lot of chocolate in the house. (A lot for us, probably not much by everyone else's standards.) We all had horrible stomachaches, our bodies just aren't used to a lot of the stuff in those foods anymore. So many kids suffer from depression, ADHD, headaches, stomachaches, asthma, etc now. More than ever before. I have to wonder how accurate some of those diagnoses are. Maybe if the diets were drastically changed some of the symptoms would disappear or at least decrease. (I know it's not ALL caused by foods, but I do think that how and what people eat have a big impact on overall health.) Anyways, it's unfortunate that so many people live like that. Hopefully it will make a difference for someone.
Actually, a doctor, Dr. Lendon Smith, wrote a couple of books about nutrition in which he discusses ailments and behaviors and conditions which are aggravated or caused by poor nutrition or specific deficiencies or food allergies. "Food For Healthy Kids" discussed children specifically, and even had a section on healthy recipes for snacks and meals. I'm amazed at what passes for a meal at some peoples homes, too. A parent just has to set certain limits for their children at mealtimes as in everything else--they don't know any better til we teach them. My Mom watched a talk show about people who were suing fast food joints, including a mother who was suing on behalf of her daughter. Mom had to laugh and so did I, when a member of the audience pointed out that if the mom could sue the restaurant for serving that junk, the daughter could turn around and sue her mom for taking her their and buying it for her! What ever happened to common sense?
