Organic Gardening will upgrade its login and registration system on
December 11. The new system is needed to support some of the major site
enhancements that we are currently developing. The new system is shared with
other Rodale sites, including Prevention, Men's Health, Runner's World and Women's Health.

I fail to see how a 'loving the environment' thread has turned and flopped onto the belly of a left wing socialist communist partisan liberal progressive hoo-ha- ha monster! We all breathe the air, drink the water, use energy, flush toilets, get hit with acid rain and mercury falling from the skies, and, oh,yeah,we on this website...OrganicGarden... My dream during the remainder of my lifetime is to leave this earth in a better condition. My dream is for this Nation of Ours is to pull together and work together on common sense solutions. My dream for this Nation's Future is for OrganicGardening to be the mainstream, not a 'Tree-Hugger,Birkenstock,Contra-dancing,environmentalist members only Club'!!

Amen, franeli! I'd like to share a piece of that dream, too.
I guess sometimes we'll just have to stick together, kick off our birkies and contra dance around the Seqoias while drowning out the other voices with a rousing chorus of Kumbaya.

I love to Contra Dance, refuse to cut down my big trees even though they block sun from the vegies (I figure they clean so much air!), have spent more on Birkenstocks than I care to admit and do many environmentally friendly activities. But I'm also a conservative Christian. It's interesting (and encouraging) to hear franelli say it, and be endorsed by others, because what I've heard more of is along the lines of "how can you organic garden and not be a liberal?" There really is a lot of common ground. We could accomplish so much more if we focused on commonalities rather than on the differences.

Hi Trudy, You have hit that proverbial nail right square on its head. Focus on the commonalities, not the differences. :x Yes! Yes! Yes! This tactic might also find the answers to some of the problems - we can do together what we cannot do alone. Love, Jackie
Well here we are now. I voted for him. Let's see what happens in the next four years. But he can't do it alone, nor can 'we' give credit or blame for everything that doesn't go our way. Many liberals politician's stay in office by press-releasing conservative values and then voting like a commie. I prefer 'W' as what he says he will at least try to accomplish.
Organic gardening for me is so much more relaxing. I don't have to worry whether or not I added too much or too little chemicals. Just keep makin' compost, using my drip/soaker irrigation, building more permanent wooden raised beds, and pickin' off pests. Wish I could figger' out how to send you'all some pictures from the '04 garden. I think organic gardening is a 'conservative' value. Who-boy, I did 'er now.
