Help..How to you get rid of a wart that keep coming back??

I have wart that keep coming back about every 9 months in same place on my finger.
I know Warts are caused by a virus. My doctor has frozen it off 3 times and comes back again
Apparently I have not completely killed the virus despite having it frozen.
Would cutting it out by doctor get rid of it.??
Does any one have remdey to get rid of it that works??

Thank you,

Back in my Navy days I had a wart on my wrist. I'll exclude the long story. Corpsman had a gadget with an electrical probe and rheostat. Stuck the sharp point in the wart and hit the juice! Nothing. Keep adjusting the rheostat, nothing! Finally had enough and turned it all the way up. I happened to be sitting on a metal locker and the electricity made a straight path and exited the contact point between me and the locker. I shot straight up. The wart was smoking and checked for an exit wound. There was one but not as bad as the wart. Don't know if it's medically accepted these days but the wart never came back. Still have the scars (both) 20+ years later.

Hiya Snoopy,
Many moons ago, as a child, Mom put castor oil on my knee wart...applying it faithfully...it went away and never came back.

Needless to say that is not practical, especially on a finger.
I think the theory was to just smother the thing.

I recently had one on my finger...tried the castor oil thing with a spot bandaid but I wash my hands too much...that didn't work...

So I thought I'd try clear nail polish ...again, the smothering idea.
Just painted it on...repainted as needed...kept it smothered...it stayed on well...didn't show...and before too long, the wart fell off and hasn't come back!

Not an organic solution...but it worked for me!
Big Grin

Then of course, Gramma once said if you rub a new potato on a wart and bury the potato under an oak tree by the new moon...that would get rid of a wart...
Now that sounds more organic!!

Great question, I have two that are on my feet and driving me nuts. I am trying the nail polish.

As a side note, My students and me are reading Tom Sawyer, who recommend spunk water, and Huck Finn who is a firm believer in a dead cat and cemetery. Wink

Years ago, my older brother had a wart. "Somebody" told him how to get rid of it. The method involved a potato, the downspout on the east side of the house, and the phase of the moon. Don't remember the specifics, but the wart went awy. No $h_t.

Now I'd pay good money to see a video (not that there is one) of Dirt's wart removal. When I read that I laughed so hard I snorted! Not very ladylike, I assure you.

I believe they have roots like carrots, and if you've had it a long time that root is well developed. Freezing off the top won't really kill it; it's got to be dug out.

I had one on the inside of my right ring finger from childhood until a few years ago that I finally had cut out. I think I tried every folk and home remedy there is before that - my only regret is that I didn't excise the little f'er years earlier. The dermatologist didn't offer freezing as an option because of how long I'd had it.

These are ideas that my friends told me so
far how they got rid of their warts.
Which some of the ideas are way out there..too weird.

1-- Another wart cure, and a green one, is fig leaf juice.
Take a green fig leaf and break the stem. Put the juice
on the wart a couple of times a day for about a week.

2-- Used the tree tea oil....very smelly. Finally the
virus must have been defeated as well because all
warts are GONE Also castor oil worked and Don't forget
the oil essence, Lavender oil smells much better than
tea tree oil if the smell.

3--if duct tape can't fix it it's really broken
Home cure: Duct tape
Use it for: Warts
Covering warts with duct tape eliminates them better
than freezing them offTo use duct tape safely, clean
the area. Then cut a piece of duct tape to a size
slightly bigger than the wart. Apply the duct tape
to the site and rub into place. Every 3 days, remove
the tape and file down dead skin with a pumice stone or
nail file. Repeat until the wart disappears.
Chemicals in the tape suffocate and kill the wart

4---Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that
if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana
skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out.
Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

All of these above I am not sure of.
I think cutting it out is the
way to get rid of a wart.

I have gotten rid of most of
my 30 year old scars on my left finger.

I use "alpha tophercol acetate"
I use a small dab.
I get it from my drug store.
It's a long process
I buy the smallest bottle
It's the most expensive vitamin E.

UPDATE on my quest for wart removal..

One of my friend said to use TREE -TREE OIL
for removal of Warts and that is stinks.
That was a under statement.
It shells like as Hot melting aslphat.
My friend and I went to Whole Foods today to get it. This tea tree oil is not cheap,0.5 oz for 8 dollars.
At this price my wart needs to fall off soon.
Plus I smell like freshly paved road.
My boy friend last nite keep saying ..What is that smell???
Why does my house smell like Hot melting aslphat???
Of course I've blame it on the dog that the dog needed a bath..
I just could not tell my boyfriend it was me who that was stinkie with the tea tree oil on wart.

LOL

...this has worked for me! on removing several warts and moles. I just cut a little square of banana peel and taped it over the wart/mole, and doing so for several days in a row. Wart/mole comes off in layers and gets smaller and smaller, and then disappears!

It is hard when warts are on the finger though,
whichever route you try.

Oh, sorry. I thought this thread was about an ex-brother-in-law. Can't help with yours.
