I have my tomatoes, applesauce, and peaches canned. The (red) green-beans and squash frozen (thanks for the squash tip Mumsey!) Furnace man is coming tomorrow to replace my ancient furnace with a fuel-efficient one (since gas is supposed to double). Wood is chopped for the fireplace. An extra layer of insulation is in.

I so look forward to the month of September, because that means I made it thru Jul/Aug!!! ...and then I'm that much closer to October ...which means its almost November!!! my favorite month... next to May!! ***************** down in Louisiana, where the fire ant mounds grow. |

Looks like winter here today and only 43', see what I mean about short seasons!!! But I covered all the sensitives last night and hopefully, when the sun comes out tomorrow, I will still have something alive in the garden. Don't have enough ripe tomatoes yet and still want those ground cherries.
