I have my tomatoes, applesauce, and peaches canned. The (red) green-beans and squash frozen (thanks for the squash tip Mumsey!) Furnace man is coming tomorrow to replace my ancient furnace with a fuel-efficient one (since gas is supposed to double). Wood is chopped for the fireplace. An extra layer of insulation is in.

I’m all ready for winter.

So why, oh why, was yesterday the hottest day on record for the year?

Looks like winter here today and only 43', see what I mean about short seasons!!! But I covered all the sensitives last night and hopefully, when the sun comes out tomorrow, I will still have something alive in the garden. Don't have enough ripe tomatoes yet and still want those ground cherries.
