Congrats! I didn't even know about karma points here until this weekend. How do you get or give them?

Elfie, love the new avatar! Now that's a feline with personality. Big Grin

David, your karma's pretty healthy, too. Check it out.

Other forums I have been on had a place to give karma points. I just figured the OG forum gave points by the number of posts.

I am way back on page 3 at about 116 posts which seems about the right number of posts since I have been here. I will try to add a "me too" or something to every post from now on so I can get up in the stratosphere like the rest of you. Roll Eyes Wink

Elfie, luv the new avatar! Cats I can relate to, your other one scared me a little bit. Eeker

It's got to do with the number of posts you've made since you joined the forums. The count goes back to when you joined, not when we switched over to a new platform. That's why someone who joined before that will have a total number of "Karma" points different than the points listed below each of their posts. For instance, according to that list, I've got 6641. But if you look at the bottom of this post it's 2484. That later number represents posts made since the switch.

And, ever since this "karma" business began when we switched, there was always some confusion about its significance. I remember a number of people more versed in the 'ways of karma', said that the whole idea of "Good Karma" is to have the lowest number. So, by that logic, Elfie and I are going straight to hell w/no chance of ever coming back except as slugs. Hopefully, in an organic garden at least. Big Grin

However people who had to add an M to their long time user name in order to sign onto the @#$%^&*!!! eve forum still lost karma points/seniority.

I had no idea. What do I win? Big Grin I like how it is over at pharmer phil's place. You can give people karma when they do something good.

Congratulations Elfie!

Gee, I had no idea I was that close to the top either. Maybe I should try harder. On second thought, my wife thinks I spend too much time on the computer anyway so I will just let things continue to go on at their own pace.

And oh2fly, don't worry, you are on the first page and climbing fast.

David, maybe we should stick with what we've got. Poor ole Pharmer Phil himself only has a karma of 122 and that is for 5167 posts! Eeker

Um...Elfie? I think karma points is related to how many times you've posted, which indicates...you have a big mouth!!! Big Grin Big Grin

I love that ecologicals and aris are still on the first page even tho' neither of 'em have posted here for years.

PS I love your avatar. Remind me not to fly too close. Smiler

I am a bit surprised at that karma list. There are 148 pages of people that have joined this forum but nobody past page 55 has made any posts at all. I don't know why someone would join the forum if they have nothing to say.

Hmmm... right in the middle (of the first page) which I think means I talk a lot, and here I am doing it again.

That's Golf, Gardenz. Karma's more like baseball.

Karma points, I discovered, can also be edited by the admins. I don't know whose butt I've been kissing, but it's a nice, smooth one. Wink
