Phoebe got me to join Facebook, and it's so much fun! Many people in my family are there, my children, cousins and so forth, and I find DGS is willing to express his feelings to me more this way. And old friends, and people in the groups I've joined (mostly political), some of whom I haven't seen in years, plus new people associated with those groups. Anybody else a member?

I know a lot of people on there too but for some reason it really bothers me that it tells everybody what you're doing and who you're posting to.

You can write private letters if you want to. And you only write on the wall the stuff you want everybody to see.

I've got a profile, but I don't include much personal information. My list of preferences and opinions includes such gems as "None" and "never" and "You get nothing". Big Grin My FB birthday is January 1. And I don't post my family's names - I use online handles. I've requested that my FB friends also not use specific locations/relationships in public areas - but yeah, it's a great site for staying connected to far-flung family and friends. And if you add me to your list of friends, I WILL UNFRIEND YOU if you keep sending me "invites" and "challenges" to games! What a waste of time. Roll Eyes

I've got a feacebook page. I rarely go to it because I can never remember my password and then it's very slow loading and it's just not worth the hassle.

Are you kidding? There were dozens, from all over the world. Evidently there's no way to narrow the search by country. I got tired after awhile and gave up.

What, you don't recognize my user pic? Roll Eyes You can narrow your search by "network" - that's the same as narrowing by country and city.

All 9 of my kids are on and we share pictures, keep in touch and make smart-alec remarks back and forth. I put on a picture from when I was 20 for an avatar, and wouldn't you know, some stranger looking for a friend hit on me. I told him I was an old married grandmother of many and gave him grandmother's advice- get off line and into the real world to find a real person.
