This goes back to my era. Just wondering who's been watching the show and who do you think warrants the title of the new lead singer? Replacing Michael Hutchence will be a virtually impossible quest in my opinion. ?:|
I am almost embarrassed to admit it (because I'm always ragging on "reality tv"), but I have seen three of these. I missed all of last week because I was working nights. (I'm only interested in the shows where they sing, so it is no great loss.)
I'm torn between Mig and Ty. I saw Mig in We Will Rock You when I was living in London (it was FANTASTIC), so I'm kind of partial to him. I like his attitude too. But I must say I liked Ty's performance last night.

Do Ya'll really think that a woman 'could' be picked??
Up until last night, I thought JD, was really good, he seem to have alot of confidence, and didn't seem to be holding his voice back like alot of the others.
Ty doesn't hold back his performance at all, if he would just shave the rest of his hair off.....great!!!
I do like Deanna alot, but she seems to be holding back, not to mention, bouncing up and down all the time, (its been awhile since I've seen a live rock concert, I don't remember the bouncing!!!?:|
I kinda liked Wil, but I'd be telling him, "Open your mouth and sing it!!!"
They mentioned a voice coach for Mondays show, so maybe these guys will really start giving it their all.
I sit there watching and singing and give it my all!!! ....Only my husband has to suffer through it :^O Robin

I haven't followed each show from begining to end, I tend to leave (most t.v. shows) during commercials. But, I have enjoyed all the performances that I've seen. I don't have a favorite, I only know of one INXS song & I can't tell you the name of it. So, I can't even begin to guess who might be good for their band. But I think it would be a shame if at least some of these people don't end up in professional bands. Overall, I've been impressed by all of the singers.
Although Daphna's dress last night just was, at a loss for words. I guess wrong will have to do. It just didn't fit the situation.
I watch all the Canadian/American Idol shows. I am a musician and when I feel shivers down my spine, I know there is a winner. I haven't been wrong yet. My teen is a true idol of this show and is wondering if I am right again. I'll hold my decision to the finals. I did get shivers last night from only one artist. I also got teary eyed over one artist. The person is such a great performer, but I sensed disaster in their life. I'm a very intuitive person and actually send good energy their way after watching the show.
I am so glad to be in safe company so I can admit that I have been sucked in too. I try not to start TV habits, but I feel one coming on. Last week I watched to try and wind down before bed since I have been dreaming about class material all night sometimes and waking up in a frenzy. Last night I watched it again...the downhill slide begins (and I think I like the ride)
I was also of the '80 alt.-punk-college rock era which INXS got it's start in. They totally turned pop later on (read: SOLD OUT), but I still thought they were great musicians.
Jordis has been my favorite so far - partially due to the fact that I am from Minnesota, and Mig is probably the most talented of the men. Although between the two I think Jordis digs down deeper and shows more soul than Mig. Mig is the classic rock star with the scrawny bod and crazy cheekbones - and the chicks love him.
The other reason I got sucked in is to see Dave Navarro. Jane's Addiction was one of my favorite bands in the '80's, and still is to this day. Dave is kinda cheesy these days with his T&A wife Carmen Electra, but I love his roots that trace back to the days before punk was pop. I miss those days.
Anyway, I am HOOKED, and hope to see more threads as the weeks go on!
