I tried to take Scott's advice, but it's not working! Anybody else having this problem?

Are you trying to use the hide post button? It doesn't work on the initial post, only the replies unfortunately.

Are you serious? Then what's the point?!

There's another way. I think Matt just posted it. Use the GO button, then personal zone and ignore list. Add whoever you want to there and you should be good. Thanks for bringing that up. I forgot about this way.

I haven't tried the hide post button, I went to my personal and tried to put them on my ignore list. I still see their posts and from what I have heard from other members, I don't think it will work.

Hello? Scott's advice is great. But, as I mentioned before on Hairy's thread, if you add a person to your "Ignore" list (by clicking on their name to the left of any post they've made -you don't have to go to "Go" - and then click on "Add [blank] to my ignore list" from the dropdown menu) it will only ignore posts they've made within a thread. It won't ignore a post from that person if that post initiated a thread. BTW: If you do go to "Go", you'll see this:

You an click "Hide Post", too, if you want and do that till the cows come home. But you have to do that to each individual post.

Bottom line is: the best you can expect is not to see posts by an "ignored" person if those posts are within a thread only. Or...if you see a post they've initiated, just don't click on it in the first place. 'kay?

there is simple reason the ignore list does not work.
That reason is because the ignore list is part of pm system that is inactive on this board.
The hide post is how you ignore posters you do not want to read.

No. I'm afraid you're wrong on this, GG. The "Ignore" feature most definitely works. I know this for a fact, as it has come in handy a great deal for me personally in the past. It has absolutely nothing to to with the non-existent Private Messaging feature.

As I already said, if you hit "Hide Post", you're only hiding that particular post. You won't be hiding any subsequent or previous posts by that member. Just that one.

Once again....
- Click on the name of the member who you wish to put on your "Ignore" list. You do this by going to a post - any post - they've made and click on their name to the left of their post.

- You will get a drop down menu about that person. One of the items on that drop down menu will be :"Add [fill in the name of the person] To My Ignore List".

- Click on that one.

- There. That person is now on your "Ignore List".

BUT remember, only posts that person has made within a thread will be ignored. If the ignored person initiates a thread, that first post of his/hers will not be ignored. But...you can still choose not to click on it in the first place or then in that particular case, you could hit "Hide Post". It will then hide that initiating post. But you will have to do this repeatedly for each post they make that initiates a thread.

This isn't rocket science.

Quite simple. Just turn your head to the right , close your eyes and click your heels together 3 times and repeat, "Dirt, I love you; Dirt, I love you; Dirt, I love you". When you open your eyes I'll be gone! Don't know if it'll work for everyone.
