One of my customers at the farmers' market last night told me about a soup that is all vegetables and no stir and no water or broth is added. You layer the vegetables so the longest cooking ones are on bottom then add olive oil to the top and cook on low heat until the veggie juices become soup. She called it Gypsy Soup but all I am finding from a search is the same Molly Katzen recipe over and over and it isn't the one. If someone can help that would be great.

Hi,
I found one recipe that you can add a large can of tomatos and only 3 tablespoons Vegetable broth and veggies too.If you want it I will posted it.

My friend sent me this...
For Rom Stew or Romany Stew instead. Romany = Gypsy. Jogrey or Joey Gray is a stew that is modified by each family to their suiting. The traditional way does not require one to add water. Here is the web site below.

That is similar sounding. The lady didn't mention if there was meat in it. I can't exactly remember what she looked like but if I recognize her of course I will ask. I liked the idea of layering and not stirring. It seemed different and fun.

I am also thinking about trying to figure out some rich stews to make in the crock pot with no meat.

sound good with no string..
I have alot crockpot recipies from the web you can or can not add meat to them.I use alot
Tufu in mine insead of meat.If you want them I could post the link.
I think I will cook this Jogrey or Joey Gray is a stew this coming weekend.
