I'm hoping to find a recipe for bread that's similar to the cinnamon swirl bread made by Pepperidge Farm. Does anyone have a recipe for that type of bread? It makes really good toast, but the commercially made bread has dozens of ingredients so I'd like to make my own. Thanks for any recipes you can share!
Buffalo Gal, I haven't made this before but found it in a local cookbook that's yielded some other pretty good recipes.
Buttermilk Cinnamon Bread
4 C all-purpose flour 2 tsp soda 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 C sugar 2 C buttermilk 2 eggs 1/2 C oil chopped nuts (optional)
Topping 1 C sugar 1 Tbsp cinnamon
In a large bowl, combine flour, soda and salt. In another bowl combine oil and sugar. Add buttermilk and eggs and mix well. Add flour mixture to milk mixture until moistened. Fill two loaf pans about 1/3 full reserving some batter and sprinkle with some sugar/cinnamon topping. Swirl topping into batter. Add reserved batter and top again with sugar/cinnamon.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
