Sometimes I like to make everything from scratch.
Sometimes, I don't.
This week's favorite:
1 can crescent rolls
1 apple
1-1/2 c sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
6 oz. Mountain Dew
Separate out crescent rolls.
Peel apple, slice in 8 pieces and core.
Wrap each apple slice in a roll, starting with the small end. Pinch the ends together to close in the apple slice.
Place dumplings in an 8x8 pan.
Melt butter and sugar together, and stir in cinnamon.
Pour sugar mixture over dumplings.
Pour Mountain Dew into the pan.
Bake for 40 minutes in 350 degree oven, until dumplings are rich brown and crispy on top (the bottms are soft and gooey from the sugar and soda).
Remove and eat warm, or cold.
