My Cousin's Wedding - Flower Girl Dresses by Elfie Elfie (created on )Gallery | Comments
OK, you all know my cousin got married over the Father's Day weekend. I made the flower girl dresses. Here they are. The Dresses are 2 separate pieces, thank goodness, as fitting the girls was a nightmare! The pattern I used was too big for the measurements listed on its envelope. The blonde flower girl was from England, which posed its own fitting difficulties and risks... and pressure. I sewed up the size 7, 8, and 10 bodices just to be sure I had something that fit the other flower girl, but when I realized just how badly oversized the pattern was after adjusting it for my own daughter, I brought extra fabric, sewing machine, and serger with me to Winnipeg. And I needed them. I ended up making that blonde girl's dress all over again: she measured "size 10" on the envelope, but in reality, she fit the size 7, with a bit of room to spare! Between rehearsal the day before the wedding, and the rehearsal dinner that night, I made another full outfit from scratch. 4 hours. FIGJAM!
