Anyone ever heard of this, it was made in Switzerland.

Any idea what it was for or why it was named that? Sounds like either something for a Catholic surgeon or fly tying!!

I knew I'd seen it on what-i-found.  Not much else about it. It's obviously no longer in production or circulation.What do you need it for? Edit: http://www.thornhillauction.co...t.MarysInstitute.htm Oooooo... pretty, pretty antiques! Such a shame about the auction, but look at that treadle sewing machines! (It's too bad about the one that was converted to electric, though.) And a Nun's Boilproof thread cabinet! And the upright player piano, and massive, MASSIVE oak display case...  All these gorgeous pieces: homeless...See what you started, Mumsey?  I have three seasons: GROW, *SEW*, and SEED CATALOG! NOT a Keebler. |

I would bet it was "boilproof" because it wouldn't pucker or bleed when being boiled in the laundry--and maybe spun by nuns??

My step-mom gave me a bunch of it, like 100 skeins or so that she got in an auction box. Can't find much of anything about it. It's all brand new and every color under the rainbow.
