My problem is I don't even start the projects, just keep on collecting supplies. Red Face

Elfie, It wasn't that bad of a project. And I only used a DPN for holding the cable stitches when needed. Otherwise it was all straight US Size 10 needles.

Though, I do have to say... I would probably die from doing something like this: http://www.knitting-and.com/kn...ns/peace-blanket.htm OR even this: http://www.interweave.com/imag...nit/Wedding_Gown.pdf

Either way, my hands would fall off.

Bpm, I'm doing that now too, lol. I have more yarn than I know what to do with!

"I have more yarn than I know what to do with!"

Come to Ravelry me pretty lad, there are literally hundreds of patterns to take care of that yarn stash!

(In theory anyway; I find that the ones I like all call for something I don't have, need to buy, then the leftovers get added to all the others hidden under the bed!)

I got adventurous yesterdy and drove to the A.C. Moore store and to Michael's in West Virginia (about 25 miles away). They had some beautiful patterns for knitted skirts. Now one would have to be a tiny thing to wear them.

That wedding gown is lovely, but I'm with you, my hands would fall off.

I'm planning on using my spare yarn to make multi colored scarves.

Wasrabbity -- I did the same thing: I went a Joann Fabrics Store that is closing (not enough customers, unfortunately), and got more yarn. I have in total... 15 to 17 new skeins of yarn. In addition to my stash. I think I'll be making a lot of hats, gloves, and scarfs. Maybe even a pair of socks or two. Smiler

Frowner I couldn't open the wedding dress link, but it sounds like fun.

Wish I had a picture of the skirt that my mother knitted me when I was about five. It was so cute. One of those old patterns out of workbasket magazine I imagine.

I thought you were yanking our chain.. Elfie.

I may have to bust that stash of 6 skeins of green wool yarn to knit things I can sell. With the weather we are having... people want wool mittens and glittens.

I did find one of the favorite colors of green in wool that I had used for my kids and I have had requests from co workers.. I found the skeins for $2.00/skein! I bought 5...perhaps I should have bought the remaining 4...

I made the mistake of passing up some "cashmere" yarn for $1.00 akein at Big Lots in town.. now this yarn was 5% cashmere, the rest was acrylic...Should I have purchased this yarn? It was an 85G skein. I wondered at the time I saw it... is 5% cshmere really going to make a difference when 95% of the yarn is acrylic?

I'm not a yarnie, so I don't know whether 5% cashmere is enough to make good yarn out of acrylic.

I thought of you when I saw this embroidery design, Rabbity:

Face it Elfie... you would love to spend an afternoon with me in Canada again! LOL!!!

Well... I got another wild hair to get out of town... (I was so good during the $4.00/gallon era and have stayed in town up until this last week) so I went on a quest to find a movie theater I didn't know the website name... and I wanted to drive on a 4 lane highway!!!.. So I came across the Big Lots store in that "Burg" and found discounted yarn with Hohair and another with alpaca and mohair for $1.00 and $1.50 a skein... So I had to load up some more.. This yarn is also washable. I guess Mohair and alpaca is more washable than wool from what I read on Wikpedia.

I really hadn't paid attention to how many people wear scarfs until I got reobsessed with knitting. So... I think the mohair would make great scarfs and I got purple and slate blue... colors that seem to be popular around here as well. I see me at that arts and crafts fair in early September!

I finally finished all 5 of the "bereavement sets" for Riley Children's Hospital I've had sitting around procrastinating over finishing. You guys inspired me, and I finished them and brought them to the Extension Office, whew! One of the sets didn't have a bonnet cut out, so I crocheted one just winging it. It was the first successful cap I made EVER, so it's to a good cause. I had yarn lying about that matched the fabric and used white satin ribbon for a tie...it's sweet. I know the parents with broken hearts will be happy to have anything for their angels. Smiler Thanks for the inspiration and mental kick in the "patoot".

Good on you. That's not an easy project to finish.

I just started and finished a monster pillow tonight. It's a go-with for the monster blanket my daughter gave to a friend last year on her birthday. Yay, stash-busting! Not that a 14" pillow slip can put a dent in my stash... Razzer

This week I have been so busy helping DD get ready for her move to Germany. However, when they are gone, I know I will have to keep busy to keep from losing it. I plan to start some sewing for the new grandbaby due in June. I have some of those preprinted cloth books to sew for reading to Jamie Renée. I will only have a couple of weeks to spoil her before I have to return to California.

To be honest... I haven't touched my knitting in so long, I think there's some dust collecting on it.

Last time I touched it (before my trip to NYC, which was the last week of June I believe) was in... January? Egads! Eeker

Right now, my UFO's include: 6 fabric bags, several pants that I will turn into bags, a scarf, a knitted bag, a blanket... And this still hasn't made a dent in either stash!
