Is it bad for the garden if you have that kind of weed blocker-tarp stuff that supposidely allows the rain in?
I use it in my garden and haven't had any problems. The worms seem to like it!

That stuff is fine, just don't use the solid plastic stuff. It blocks water and air flow and suffocates the life underneath it.
