Hey,
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to your questions! The red spiked flower is Celosia, according to Pam, we use row covers on almost anything...for a variety of reasons: to protect lettuce heads and leaves from rough weather, to protect other plants from beetles...right now we have them on our basil garden, eggplants, and new soybean seedlings.
