I need ideas for little hoop houses. I have been making raised beds out of old cement water meter lids I get fron the water dept. I stack them 2ft high and whatever ft long. They work great and they are free. I was hoping for ideas on how to cover them with plastic. Thanks gardeners..
There was an article on hoop houses in a recent OG magazine. I don't remember which one but it was discussed here in the forums. If you do a search you should find the thread. If you don't subscribe, you might be able to find the magazine at your library.
Elliot Coleman in his book Four Season Harvest (I believe) has several ideas. A basic frame made from pvc pipe is relatively easy and inexpensive. We have a 20'X 98'hoophouse we are just finishing. Several of our friends have them and they have worked well for them. Growing For Market magazine has had several articles over the past year. Excellent mag for those who sell at farmers markets.
