I have currently have grass growing between my raised vegetable beds. I wish to replace it with a path mulch. I am considering covering the grass with a lawnscape fabric and covering that with about 3 inches of th bark mulch. Will this work? Suggestions would be appreciated.

It will work, but I find that to be more work than just the grass.

Depends on where you live. In Texas with our heat, all you have to do is get some black plastic like 4 mil or 6 and lay it on the ground that you want to clear. Place rocks or bricks on it to hold it down. With our sun and the black plastic, the grass and weeds die in a hurry.

I don't think plastic should be mentioned on an organic gardening forum because it is made from non rewnewable resources, adds nothing to the soil, inhibits the soil breathing, and really just does nothing much beneficial for future generations.

I totally agree with Kimsr, and I would like to add that the heat brought to the ground and trapped by the plastic will kill any beneficial microbes that live in your ground.
